Denmark is one of the happiest places on Earth, according to a study conducted by the UN. It doesn’t strike as a surprise that Danish people are the ones that developed a specific lifestyle concept based on comfort, wellness, and contentment called Hygge. The word “Hygge” exists in both Danish and Norwegian language and it means “to give comfort, joy” and it’s been one of the most popular terms in 2016 when it swept across the globe and became widely accepted concept.

There are no constraints when it comes to exercising a “Hygge” way of life, on the contrary, some people have found a way to implement Hygge in their working environment in order to improve productivity. It’s a well-known fact that a happy worker is a productive worker, while employees that work while sitting on the edge have a hard time focusing their attention to work. Productivity is one of the most important aspects of any business, it benefits the customers, employer, and the worker. Being productive doesn’t always mean you have to work until you fall off your feet. It’s possible to enhance your productivity by making your working environment more “Hygge”.

Make yourself at home, while at work

Working in a sterile environment can make you feel uncomfortable and edgy, especially if you have to spend a lot of time in the office. Place some photos on your desk, have your coffee or tea mug nearby, decorate the corner of your office with a nice plant, and your office will begin to look more like home.

Let the music be your inspiration

Organize a list of your favorite tunes and let the music keep your juices flowing, however, mind the others if you’re sharing workspace. You can use your headphones and keep everybody happy.
