Starting up a business is one thing, but keeping it going is a whole other trick. In 2019, there was a business death rate of 11.2%, meaning that over 10% of businesses closed for one reason or another.

One way to keep trading is to make sure that your business reaches as many people as possible. The best way to do this is to develop a brand and to get your name out there, so potential customers know where to find you.

Develop A Distinctive Brand

To market your brand, you need to have a brand that stands out to begin with. A brand is how people perceive your company and your product, no matter what it is. It makes you recognisable to customers and forms an identity that they will latch onto.

A good brand is simple, distinctive, and tells a story of what your company stands for. People should be able to look at your brand and immediately associate it with your product, as well as what makes it stand out from your competitors. A good brand should have a personality.

It can be tricky to build a brand and figure out your identity, but it will allow you to grow your customer base and hopefully develop customer loyalty.

Social Media Marketing

Once you have an idea of what you want your brand to be like, then you need to introduce it to your customers. The best way to do this is by using social media. Most of your customers are on social media anyway, so you might as well take the conversation to them.

Engaging with your audience and interacting with them is a sure way to develop a relationship with them. It’s a bit like how a customer in a brick-and-mortar shop might buy more things if they know the owner personally.

One company that does this extremely well is Wendy’s. The fast-food chain is well known for its Twitter account, which it uses to endear itself to people using humour and even by mocking other chains. People laugh at these tweets, then share them with their friends. While they do so, they feel closer to the Wendy’s brand.

If a customer thinks about a brand more, they’re more likely to consider that brand when they want a product. Someone who follows the Wendy’s Twitter feed, for example, is more likely to go to that restaurant when they’re hungry, rather than their competitors.

Live Streams And Videos

Another way to directly communicate with your customers is by using videos and live streams. Some people connect better to a company when they see a spokesperson, traditional television advertisements worked this way, and videos and live streams can be even more effective.

A live streaming company can help you to film demonstrations of your products, events pertaining to your company, or even something more casual and outright entertaining. This can help your social media reach to get even broader.
