The average person will burn around 382 calories during a 7-hour sleep while an hour sitting at your desk at work could burn approximately 102 calories. Even sitting in front of the TV for half an hour can add another 27 calories.

Run a bath for your kids and burn 30 calories, dry your hair for 15 minutes and add another 39 calories or take a shower and add 62 calories. Housework can burn up to 100 calories per hour while playing with your kids can add 186 calories per half hour. Out in the garden, mowing the lawn could help you burn more than 200 calories in just 30 minutes.
