It’s Time To Evaluate Your Life!
Today is “National Evaluate Your Life Day”. Sounds a bit heavy, doesn’t it? But it doesn’t have to be. Many of us will be used to taking stock of our lives on or around New Years, making resolutions or setting goals but according to research most of us (80% if figures are to be believed) have fallen off the resolution bandwagon by Valentine’s day. If that’s the case then why bother with “evaluate your life day”?

Well I think that evaluating your life is a little different than setting (for example) a goal to lose 5kg in 6 months or to stop smoking.
Evaluation looks at a lot more than just a short/mid term goal, it’s much more broad than that. You can look at:
- Your career – Are you happy? Is there some form of training you want/need
- Your health – Is your diet okay? Any aches and pains that you need to consider?
- Your relationships – Anyone toxic that you need to set boundaries with? Perhaps you want to start using a dating app or join a community group
- And many more aspects of your life
Evaluation means you look at these aspects, you don’t necessarily need to take action there and then, or even in the future but being aware of certain parts of your life and how you feel about them will help you plan your goals or what direction you want to take in the future.
It’s basically a check in, a way for you to ask yourself “how are you doing really?”.
So why not take a few minutes out of your day to have a little check in with yourself – you might be surprised that when you think about something it’s not as perfect or as bad as you think it is.
