Right now, it takes at least three years and $20 million to make a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG), due to challenges in the areas of engineering, asset-creation, and marketing. That price tag means independent game developers simply can’t afford to enter this exciting and lucrative space.

Today, every other company wishes to adopt technological change as it has become crucial for organizations. It dictates how well you respond to the external environment and marks your position in the intense competition of existing markets. Therefore, it is inevitable to bring a technological change to your organization.

Multiverse allows you to create your own MMOG for nothing, they only start charging when you start charging – bonus! They provide the platform, servers and charging (if you decide to charge) process. I’ve not looked into it too deeply but it looks excellent and I’ll certainly be having a tinker with it.

It’s in beta at the moment and they’re only signing up a limited number of people so if you’re interested in joining me in testing the system, email me at katy [dot] whitton [at] gmail [dot] com and we can throw some game ideas about.
