Squidoo have launched a website which allows users to populate “Lenses” with content of their choice. I’ve started my own Lens up called “Be Productive”.

Squidoo aims to provide both themselves and Lens Owners with profit via Google’s Adsense program (personally I think they should have gone for another Ad program due to the apparent “Ad-Blindness” it’s causing at the moment).

The weird thing is that you’re technically making a profit from others hard graft, for example, “Be Productive” lists one item from my own site, some links to Amazon books (from which I guess Squidoo gets the affiliate fees) and some RSS feeds I though others may find interesting.

So what’s the point?

None really – I only went on there to see what the hype was about and I can’t say I’m impressed or really intend to update the lens (The RSS will do that for me anyway). I guess I was interested in the Web 2.0 front-end (which doesn’t work in I.E by the way – and I’ve yet to hear back about my support enquiry).
