Does your home have kerb appeal? Does it look as good on the outside as it does on the inside? If not, then it might be time to give your home’s ‘face’ a makeover. After all, it’s the first part of your property that most people will see, and if you want to make a good impression, it’s pretty important that it looks good!

So, whether you’re thinking of selling your property or just want to make it look good for your friends, family and neighbours creating kerb appeal is pretty easy.

Here are just a few things you can do to make your property look prettier from the outside:

A Grand Entrance

What do most people who visit your property do? They head for the front door right? That’s why you’re going to want to give it a bit of a makeover. You can do this by simply painting it a pretty colour (pastels are always a good option and a bit different to the norm), and perhaps adding a new handle or knocker if it’s in good condition. If it’s a bit old and worn out, then replace it with a brand new alternative to give your property an instant boost.

Do Up The Driveway

If you have a driveway, chances are it takes up a good bit of space in the garden, and as such, it is likely to draw the eye. If that’s the case, and if your driveway isn’t exactly amazing, investing in resin-bound driveway paving could make a huge difference. Not only does it look great, but it’s very durable too, which means less maintenance for you!

Go All Out In The Garden

It doesn’t matter how good your actual house looks if the garden is a mess. So, get gardening; plant lots of pretty flowers, keep the grass mowed and seeded, clear any tree debris and power wash the paving stones. These very simple tasks will elevate your outdoors to the next level.

Wave Goodbye To The Old Windows

If you can afford it, replacing old windows that are perhaps scratched or no longer very efficient is a great way to perk up your property, both outside and in. Once they’re replaced, treat yourself to some new curtains that will add a bold touch to the place.

Fix The Fences

There’s nothing worse than fences that are falling down, have holes in them or which are generally looking the worse for wear. So, if your fence has seen better days, why not replace it with new, more durable fencing. If it’s durable and pretty you’re after; wrought iron is hard to beat. The main thing is that your fence looks neat and actually performs the function of a fence.

Painting the house is a great way to give it a fresh new look and cover any spots and stains that might have developed over time. White is always a good choice, as is cream, but if you’re feeling a bit bolder and it’s acceptable for you to do so, painting your house pastel pink, blue, yellow or purple will really make it stand out and look more pretty than you ever thought it could.

You don’t have to spend a fortune tidying up your property – just a few small changes can really make a difference to how your property looks from the road.
