A little off-topic I know but I am proud of where I come from so...
Happy birthday to
Her Maj who was 82 on Monday. Hip, Hip, Hooray!
Secondly, today is the birthday of William Shakespeare (who quite unfortunately also died on this day too). Happy birthday to the best writer who ever lived (apart from myself of course)
And finally (crikey, it's all go isn't it?) Happy St. George's day. Should be a national holiday - better than the government's idea of a "British Day" bah!
And before anyone mentions it. Yes, I know St. George was Greek but so is Prince Phillip and we don't hold that against him....
too much

This time, I have to admit it was slightly on purpose!
Yes, I have reached the milestone that is
30 years old - argh!
The advantage is that I had an excuse to take a couple of weeks off work to really lay into my outstanding "Next Action" list and guess what. I
managed to clean my car!
Woo Hoo!
Now I only have a couple of small things left on what was a huge massive list of outstanding items that constantly taunted me - and boy do I feel happier now!
I've also finished my second book called "Managing Meetings" - well I call this a "book" it's really a Mini ebook - which I will be giving away for
FREE to RSS and Email subscribers, aren't I nice! Keep an eye out over the next day or so for information on how you can download your free, yes,
FREE copy!
Finally, Happy St. Patrick's Day (and Happy birthday

not that you read this....

I know I've been strangely quiet and only popping up ocasionally - withgood reason though!
I've been working on a rather large project at work which has beentaking up the majority of my time and energy. At home, I've been busilyorganising my CD collection - which I've been meaning to do for quite along time.
So far, so good. The majority of my CD collection is now on my Mac Book- the only problem is that my poor 4 gig Nano can't cope with them allnow. I'm a bit reticent to upgrade to the new 3rd generation Nano as Idon't know whether it's compatible with my i-Station(the website says it is but I'm never sure about these things!), orwhether I should upgrade to a video i-pod or something - suggestionswelcome!
I've also been playing with a new feed reader called
Shrook. It's looking pretty good - although I can't seem to find a way to move the preview pane across the screen rather than have it in a third/fourth column.Shrook allows you to sync your feeds across multiple Macs, plus it hasthe added advantage that you can read your feeds via a website if youdon't have access to a Mac with Shrook installed.

Oh, and best of all, it's free!
I've also been fiddling around with
Open Project to see if it's suitab....

Hello all! Long time no speak!
Well, after two weeks off I returned to work refreshed and replenished - which is just as well considering the workload I had on. It didn't help also that I've had a really rotten cold for the past three weeks, which has just only decided to start letting up.
Also, I've been working quite hard behind the scenes and have finally published my first book - and before I hit 30 which was my goal - yeay me!
If you're interested (or just nosey) you can download a free sample chapter of "Managing Web Projects - How to manage the full project life cycle with minimum hassle" here or you can buy the ebook or paperback versions from Lulu.com. It's priced at $19.99 for the 128 page paperback and $9.99 for the ebook.
I have to say that I think deciding on the pricing was the most difficult part of the whole process! It's really hard deciding on what's over or under charging. After doing some research - which wasn't easy as there aren't too many books on the same subject or in the same niche - I think the pricing levels that I've come up with are pretty fair. Actually, it was a bit of an eye-opener to see some ebooks with less....

Ah Ha! I'm Back! I hope you all missed me whilst I was away. No, I wasn't abducted by Aliens and I haven't run out of things to say! In actual fact I took a two week holiday - my first real break from work since Christmas and I decided that I wasn't going to do anything. Yup, you heard me correctly, nothing, nada, zilch.
When I finally arranged my time off, I initially sat down and did a rather pretty mind map (in pink no less) of all the things that I thought I should do over my holiday and then I thought "Do you know what? I'm on holiday. Stuff it!" And I did.
This may seem a little strange as I'm a big advocate of Getting Things Done, however we all need a break now and then and I have to admit it was rather nice not to check a list every day to see what I was supposed to be doing and instead just do whatever I felt like (mainly sleep) when I felt like it (all the time).
We all have countless commitments both at home and work and sometimes it's rather nice to be able to forget them all and just go with the flow. You might ask if I felt guilty. Maybe for the first couple of days but not for long!
Anyway, I'm back now (you can't get rid of me that easily) and normal posting will resume shortly.

Well, I've gone and done it. After 6 months of deliberation I've bought myself a Macbook. It was a toss-up between this lovely machine and a windows-based one but as I've decided not to touch Vista until service pack one comes out (which will be a while) I had to plump for what shall be known from now on as "Whitey".
So, my question to you dear readers is.....
Are you a Nac user? and if so what software (preferably free) should I install?
Your advice is much appreciated!
