I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Personally mine was the quitest I can ever recall. My Dad bought me a fantastic new stereo and DAB radio for Christmas which will certainly be able to annoy the loud neighbours when I turn it up full blast and Little Big Bro bought me one of the best CD's I've heard in aaaaages
Bloodsport by the Sneaker Pimps which has rarely left the new stereo since I set it up. This time of year has been quiet as I've had no one to hang around with ("Ahhhhh

" I hear you all cry).

is away on holiday (cow) and Zack Dingle barely put in an appearance so I've spent most of the festive season sat in front of the television. I have to say how disappointed I was with this years' festive fayre. I'd figured out
Midsomer Muders and
Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking (How gorgeous was Rupert Everett as Holmes???!) in the first 15 minutes or so - one reason why I don't watch murder mysteries any more. I overdosed on so much Peter Cook and Dudley Moore (Not only but always, The Real Derek and Clive) that I felt I lived with the two of them and the Unseen Eric Morcombe didn't really shed any light on the legendary figure (Would put a link in to the Channel 4 site but the search isn't working so I shan't bother). Actually, in retrospect, I can't think of one single programme that tickled my fancy at all. Not even
Absolutely Fabulous or
The Vicar of Dibley. I even resorted to watching Harry Potter and the Philospoher's stone event though I have it on DVD - how dire is that? Mind you, all thoughts of how crap television has been is paled into insignificance by the events in
Asia on Boxing Day. I'm not normally a sentimental type of person but my heart goes out to anyone with relatives and friends missing in the area. My village has already had a fund raising drive and I would urge anyone out there who's not already done so to
donate as much as you can. Well, I think that's enough ranting for one day - best be off to look for a job I suppose! TTFN!
