Nope, not a spelling mistake, and it certainly doesn't have the same ring to it as the Monty Python song does but it's on its way.
According to
wired news 52% of all email we receive each day is spam. Now I can believe that. I'm fed up of people offering me herbal viagra and penis enlargements - not very relevant to me is it?
So what's "Spim" then? Well it's spam on instant messengers. Now I thought that most IM's had an option on them to stop people sending you a message who you didn't know but apparently these cheeky Spimmers are using spyware to install software on unsuspecting user's machines who then Spim their own friends unwittingly. Nasty eh?
The problem is that whilst Spam is slowing down, Spim messaging is increasing 100% each year.
Experts and IM companies better take note otherwise IM will become like Email - you'll fear opening your program up because of what you might find.
One of the reasons why I rarely use any IM products I suppose.
