Sony has finally bowed to the pressure put on it by the media, lawyers and the general public and have decided to remove the DRM software from future CD releases.
The Sony DRM rootkit has been classed as "Malware" by several leading anti-virus companies and it has already been used to spread malicious Trojans.
However, Sony haven't backed down completely and have refused to remove CDs using the rootkit currently on sale. There are 20 titles affected including:
