GTD And Google Desktop

I haven't yet downloaded the Google Desktop search as I think it would take too much time to find out all of the functions it has. I will get 'round to installing it on my home PC one day though, especially after reading two excellent articles on using Google Desktop as a "Getting Things Done" processing tool I am tempted to start using it right away. The articles are from to-done and can found here:
I'm a bit worried that Google is taking over the world; the integrated searching, whilst fantastic, will allow them to view (and store) the searching habits of millions of users and I'm not sure I like the idea of that.
But, if it increases my productivity I may come around!
