Don't let me near any sharp objects...

Monday's Gone KaboomIt's been one of those days so far - 12 hours (give or take 10 minutes) of complete nightmare!

Firstly, at 3am this morning, my Hi-Fi decided to blow a fuse (I know Alanis Morissette*1 can be depressing but I didn't think it'd make the stereo commit suicide), which in turn blew the main house trip switch. Cue much fumbling around in the dark and then the debate of whether to wake everyone up and tell them they needed to reset their alarms (which I decided against by the way evil).

I didn't have a chance to check the Hi-Fi properly so I'm assuming it's just the fuse - I'll be rather peed off if it's not as it's not even a year old and is a replacement for one that whet kaput this time last year.

Not only that but when the power came on so did my TV (which was freaky as it had been turned off) so I had to leg it up the stairs to turn it down, tripping over two strategically placed cats (I'm sure they do it on purpose).

This morning I overslept because some muppet had set the alarm clock incorrectly.

Then, on the way to work my (less than a year old) car decided it was going to play up and almost stall, causing the "Danger Will Robinson" Engine Check light to flash at me (at least it didn't beep, that would have beenr really annoying ), luckily I was less than a mile from home so turned around and headed back, at which point the light went off, so I turned around and it came on again (I mean I know I don't like going to work, but my car???!!!). I pulled over, turned the engine off, swore a bit, turned it on and it was fine (which proves that these guys have the right idea). I'm hoping it's just because it was so wet this weekend and that the plugs were damp (or some other such technical term that sounds good). Of course, it could just be a sinister plot as the Car's due for it's first service soon (cue sinister background music).

The drive to work was basically like driving through a kiddies paddling pool, one poor soul had come a cropper and had put his van into a ditch - which of course caused the obligatory rubber-necking from everyone so we slowed down to a crawl, then we hit the usual traffic and that was that. 20 minutes late already.

Then I couldn't park outside work so got drenched from walking behind the building and if that wasn't enough the thing I'm working on has completely broken and taken 4 hours longer that I quoted for (and I've not even finished yet).

I don't like Mondays.... (But I prefer them more than some people, obviously).
