A Rival to PhotoShop?

Now however, we can go one better because some lovely open source developers have produced a PhotoShop clone called "Gimp" (yeah, I know, they could have come up with a better name). They reckon it can do just as much as PhotoShop - and it's free! What's more it's only a 7.5mb download, unlike Adobe's whopping 307mb download for PhotoShop.
I'm trying it out so I'll let you know if it's any good - fingers crossed it is as I'm really getting into all this Open Source stuff now - why I ever tied myself down to the evil entity that is Microsoft I'll never know...
